Rules

Blackout periods and minimum staffing

Define periods in which no vacation requests are possible — for example during stocktaking or production peaks. The minimum staffing check prevents too many team members being absent at the same time.

Answers about the absence module

  • How are part-time vacation entitlements calculated?
    lumen.hr calculates the annual vacation entitlement day by day based on the actual working days, including mid-year contract changes. The leave balance stays traceable at all times.
  • Are sick-leave records handled correctly under GDPR?
    Yes. Sick-leave absences are a special category of data (Art. 9 GDPR); visibility is restricted by role — team leads see "absent", only HR sees the reason.
  • Does the holiday logic really cover all 16 German states?
    Yes, including regional holidays that apply only in certain states such as Corpus Christi, Reformation Day or All Saints' Day. The holiday mapping is part of the tenant setup.
