Rules

Blackout periods and minimum staffing

Define periods in which no vacation requests are possible — for example during stocktaking or production peaks. The minimum staffing check flags it when too many team members would be absent at the same time.

Answers about the absence module

  • How are part-time vacation entitlements calculated?
    lumen.hr calculates the annual vacation entitlement pro rata based on the actual working days, including mid-year contract changes. The leave balance stays traceable at all times.
  • Are sick-leave records handled correctly under GDPR?
    Yes. Sick-leave absences are a special category of personal data under Art. 9 GDPR. Visibility is restricted by role: team leads see "absent", only HR sees the reason.
  • Does the holiday logic really cover all 16 German states?
    Yes, including regional holidays that apply only in certain states such as Corpus Christi, Reformation Day or All Saints' Day. The holiday mapping is part of the tenant setup.
